5/2/2023 0 Comments Default opensprinkler password![]() ![]() The LiftMaster MyQ solution consist of two modules, an 828LM Gateway and 888LM Garage Door Opener. I now have three smart devices (LiftMaster MyQ, EcoBee Smart Thermostat and Smart Sprinkler). I have always wanted a good way to monitor and control my garage door I even attempted a DIY solution with a Raspberry Pi and a relay board until my brother in law recommended the LiftMaster MyQ (I also learned about the EcoBee Smart Thermostat from him). There are too many devices and I am not quite sure which one to invest my time and money on. Now add these lines to the end of that file.I am a beginner in the smart devices market. To enable Wifi on a PI from the command line, you just need to edit a configuration file. So you’ll need to potentially do this step first. If you don’t have hard-wired connection for the git install, and git clone, they won’t work. Next, make sure you’ve setup Wifi on the PI, you can use ethernet if you want, but you’ll probably want wifi long term. Now you can tab to Finish, and press enter, and you’ll be back in the command line. Arrow down to the Interfaces option, and press Enter. To enable it, use the command sudo raspi-config Raspbian comes with SSH Server installed, but disabled. Now cd into the new directory cd OpenSprinklerGen2 Next, clone the OpenSprinkler PI program from Github. When Raspian is installed, boot it up and login (default username is pi, and default password is raspberry - you should change these immediately).Īfter logging in, you need to install Git, sudo apt-get install git Feel free to get their standalone board if you prefer. Note: OpenSprinkler has a stand alone board, but I wanted to do something fun with my PI. ![]() You’ll need a 24V DC power supply as well (i ordered one from them). I used the download straight from the Raspberry PI site, and the Etcher app to burn the image to the PI. Get a Raspberry PI 2 Model a or B and a wirless dongle, or a Raspberry PI 3 with Wifi built in.
